Mini has released the production version of Paceman

British brand Mini released data on the production version of the concept Paceman. According to the company, the new machine is the first class Sports Activity Coupe in the premium compact segment. In Russia orders Paceman will receive at the beginning of next year.

Mini calls the Paceman a perfect city car. Compact body, sporty and more spacious cabin make the car comfortable and practical. Paceman initially be available with four engine choices. The car will receive gasoline and diesel engines, ranging from 112 to 184 hp Thus, there will be four versions of the model designation.

First - Cooper Paceman - get a 1.6-liter 122-horsepower engine, which develops 160 Nm of torque. Average fuel consumption for this model will be 6 liters per 100 km. Version of the Cooper S Paceman will be powered by the same 1.6-liter engine with direct injection and turbocharger TwinScroll, which provide 184 hp power and 240 Nm of torque. Fuel consumption is not increased much - 6.1 liters per 100 km.

Diesel models get a turbocharged engine with variable turbine geometry and direct injection Common Rail. Version Cooper D Paceman equipped 1.6-liter engine that develops 112 hp power and 270 Nm of torque. Fuel consumption is 4.4 liters per 100 km. For this model, the 1.6-liter engine can be replaced by a 2-liter version of ordering with automatic transmission.

Finally, the version of Cooper SD Paceman get a 2.0-liter engine that develops a maximum power of 143 hp and a maximum torque of 305 Nm. Average fuel consumption is 4.6 liters per 100 km.

The base will be a combination of the 6-speed manual transmission. Option will be offered "automatic". A Mini ALL4 all-wheel drive will be available for the latest versions of the three listed. In normal circumstances, ALL4 sends 50% of engine power to the rear wheels, in extreme conditions, such as when driving on icy or snow-covered road, the figure rises to 100%. In the future, there will be also "charged" version of the model - Mini John Cooper Works Paceman.

Already in the basic car is equipped with a sports suspension lowered, and optional receive-wheel drive (AWD second in the history of the brand after the Countryman).

Externally Paceman - a typical Mini. Of the design innovations that were previously in the form of British cars were not present, we can note the rear lights for the first time with a horizontal arrangement.

In the rear are two individual seats instead of the couch, and the front seats are raised slightly, which improves visibility for the driver and front passenger. The rear seats fold down, so that the amount of luggage you can increase from 330 to 1080 liters. Interestingly, the front sports seats are standard on the Mini Paceman. Leather interior is optionally available.

World premiere of the new Mini Paceman will be held at the Paris Motor Show. In our country, the novelty will be available to order in the first quarter of 2013. At the same time available will be known for our market and the cost of the modification.
